Magic Awaits: A Season of Fairy Tales
Step into a world where pumpkins turn into carriages and delectable gingerbread houses hide dark secrets. Our upcoming season brings two delightful fairy tales to life on stage. Massenet's Cinderella sparkles with wit and charm, while Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel will transport you to a whimsical forest filled with magic and mystery. It's a season of enchantment for the whole family!
Wit, Charm and a touch of magic

We begin our journey through storybook pages in September, with Massenet’s Cendrillon (Cinderella). Every note of this score drips with French romantic beauty in its telling of the classic rags-to-riches tale.

Escape into a world of enchantment

We will fill Vashon Center for the Arts with the sights and sounds of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. Writing in the tradition of Richard Wagner and as a gift for his sister’s children, Humperdinck infused simple, charming folk melodies with lush orchestration and grand musical climaxes that heighten the power of the title pair’s famous sibling bond.
